Oftentimes when people are in crisis they feel paralyzed. Picking up the phone to ask for help is a scary step. And even when you’ve picked up the phone there’s the issue of who to call and how they’ll react. Faced with all this fear and uncertainty, not acting is understandable. A few weeks ago, however, we were reminded of an amazing tool that makes reaching out easier.
Crisis Text Line allows users to text in from anywhere, at anytime to communicate with trained counselors in a private, anonymous setting. You can find out more about how Crisis Text Line works here or, if you’re in crisis, you can get help now by texting “start” to 741-741.
